Purple Tea Brand Now Available at 72 Wegmans East Coast Stores; More than 500 Retailers Nationwide; Gets Non-GMO Certification
DALLAS — June 11, 2018 - Purpose Tea, the first ready-to-drink purple tea available to U.S consumers, is excited to announce a distribution deal with beloved, family-owned grocery chain, Wegmans Food Markets. The grocer, which was founded in 1916, has 97 stores along the East Coast, including New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, and Massachusetts. Purpose Tea is now available at 72 Wegmans locations.

Purpose Tea, launched in 2017, is a Direct Impact brand that donates a portion of its sales to empower female tea pickers in Kenya who make up a majority of the workforce yet live in poverty.
Distribution
Purpose Tea has grown its distribution to roughly 500 retailers in select markets in less than one year including Wegmans in the East, Jewel-Osco and Pete’s Fresh Market in the Midwest, HyVee in the Great Plains, MarketStreet and Albertson’s in the Southwest and natural independents in the Pacific Northwest. Purpose Tea will launch in select retailers in Southern California the summer of 2018.
New Non-GMO Certification
The brand is also excited to announce it has become non-GMO certified by the Non-GMO Project, a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to building and protecting a non-GMO food supply. The group is North America’s most trusted third-party verification for non-GMO food and products. Purpose Tea opted into the rigorous verification process to help ensure the highest-quality benefits for consumers.
